Ultra High Security SUVs

Ultra High Security Vehicles are Armored SUVs designed by JFK Defense that are designed to withstand a large number of shots with Armored Piercing rounds and a variety of explosives at various distances and positions on the SUV.

JFK Defense manufactures Vehicles with TRUE BR7 materials and for some high-risk areas we include design aspects from The VPAM BRV 2009 Design, which is a German Vehicle Ballistic resistant standard that basically eliminates all week points in the Ballistic Structure of an Armored SUV.

The JFK Defense Armored SUV is designed to withstand more than 380 – 400 shots at a variety of angles (Azimuth 360) from both 7.62x51mm and 5.56x45mm ammunition as a standard. However, the JFK Defense Vehicles can have a higher ballistic resistance through the utility of materials that withstand Armor Piercing ammunition.

It is extremely important to note that the standard VR7 Vehicle is constructed with 8mm Ballistic Steel, whereas JFK Defense vehicles are manufactured with 14.2mm TRUE BR7 Steel and 72mm Glass, allowing for a much higher ballistic integrity and blast resistance.

JFK Defense Ultra Security Vehicles are designed to withstand explosives detonated at various areas of the vehicle, including DM51 hand grenades, HG85 hand grenades, DM31 land mine, and 12.5kg of PETN charge IED simulation (equivalent to 17kg of TNT) at 4 meters away, as well as 15kg of TNT detonated at 4 meters away.

The integration of VR7 design also allows detonation of 6kg of TNT under the front driver wheel with no shrapnel penetration in the cabin while maintaining a safe level of pressure during blast testing to provide optimal survivability.

OPAQUE AREAS – PASSENGER COMPARTMENT – REAR BULKHEAD
Calibre 7.62 x 39 mm, FMJ/PB/HCI, AK 47 Kalashnikov
Calibre 5.56 x 45 mm, FJ/PB/SCP, M16 Colt (FB5-FB6)
Calibre 7.62 x 51 mm, FJ/PB/SC, FN “FAL/LAR” NATO rifle (FB6-NIJ III)
Calibre 7.62 x51mm, FJ/PB/HC (AP), FN “FAL/LAR” NATO rifle (FB7-NIJ IV) (Armor Piercing Rounds)

TRANSPARENT AREAS
Calibre 7.62 x 39 mm, FJ/PB/FeC, AK 47 Kalashnikov
Calibre 5.56 x 45 mm, FJ/PB/SCP, M16 Colt (BR5-BR6)
Calibre 7.62 x 51 mm, FJ/PB/SC, FN “FAL/LAR” NATO rifle (BR6-NIJ III)
Calibre 7.62 x51mm, FJ/PB/HC, (AP), FN “FAL/LAR” Rifle (NIJ IV) (minimum spacing between impacts in excess of 120mm) (Armor Piercing Rounds)

FLOOR – ENHANCED FLOOR PROTECTION (STANDARD)
The floor of the vehicle is designed to defeat the following:
Two DM 51 hand grenade (German Norm) detonated simultaneously
1x HG85 (equivalent to M67 Grenade) under vehicle

FIREWALL & ROOF (STANDARD)
The Roof of the vehicle is designed to defeat the following:
2x DM51 Hand Grenade Placed directly on the roof
1x HG85 Hand Grenade (Equiv. to M67 Grenade) Placed directly on the roof

EXPLOSIVE PROTECTION (ADDITIONAL)
Floor: 2x DM51 German Ordinance Hand Grenades
Floor: 1x HG85 Swiss Fragmentation Hand Grenade
Floor: 1xDM31 Anti-Tank Fragmentation Land Mine
Roof: 2x DM51 German Ordinance Hand Grenades
Roof: 1x HG85 Swiss Fragmentation Hand Grenade
Side: 12.5 KG PETN (17KG TNT Equivalent)
Undercarriage: 6kg of TNT

The above standardisation charts show that the ballistic resistance in a JFK Defense Ultra Security is actually superior to what is mandated by the VR7 Design. As we will Armor the vehicle with TRUE BR7 materials and incorporate the VR7 Design aspects in order to achieve higher blast resistance.
